One thing i've truly fallen in love with over this past year or so, is yoga. I've always read about it & the positive effects it has both on your mind & body, but it wasn't until I started practising it myself that I truly felt the benefits.
There are so many benefits from performing yoga; it's calming, it's a good way to de-stress, morning yoga helps make you feel more energised for the day, evening yoga helps you get into 'sleep mode' & helps you have a deeper, more meaningful sleep. It helps with your flexibility, your day-to-day mobility, helps you to be even more in tune with your body & so much more.
This is why when the founder of The Apothecary Urban Spa, Lindsey Jones asked if I'd like to take part in their Spring Cleanse Yoga Detox Workshop, I jumped at the chance.
It was a two hour workshop in the spa's Wellness Loft where we first begun on our breathing with the Ujjayi Breathing technique, we then went on to flow through Asanas aimed at detoxifying the body before a guided meditation into a shavasana. As we reflected on the session we were given a warm herbal tea to finish to leave with warmth in our bodies.
This unique workshop was created specifically to help wake the body with the change of season as we begin to head into warmer seasons, beginning with Spring.
As you enter the spa you are automically hit with the scent of complete relaxation, from the candles they are burning to the smell of the beauty products. It has quite an urban edge to the decor with the wooden bookcases full of beautiful products, stunning green plant son every shelf, low almost industrial-like low hanging lights & a cute little copper espresso machine on reception.
The Wellness Loft has a minimalist feel about it with only the yoga mats, plants, candles & cushions in the room, helping to make you feel zen & clear your mind of too many thoughts.
I absolutely adore this tiny piece of heaven that is along Market Place St in Tickhill. There isn't too many places such as this around where I live up North so it's wonderful to see uplifting new business' like the Apothecary Urban Spa take off.
I will be back again on Monday for their Yoga Fit class!
I will leave their website below so you can take a look at their timetable & hopefully get the chance to visit!
